Here’s where the vagus nerve comes in.

The vagus nerve is the longest nerve of the ANS and is one of the most important nerves in the body. It connects your brain to your gut, heart, lungs, etc.

Increasing the tone of your vagus nerve activates the “rest and digest,” and having a higher vagal tone means your body can recover faster after stress is put upon it. Being in the “rest and digest” more often during our day-to-day life leads to repair, healing, etc.

It not only works wonders for the body but also for the mind, by helping with depression and anxiety.
